A couple weeks ago I was scrambling some eggs while waiting for a piece of toast to pop out of the toaster.
I finished the eggs and continued to wait and wait and wait for the toast when an important question popped up instead:
Had I even put bread in the toaster?
No. I had not.
And that’s when it hit me.
When it comes to toast…
Sometimes the bread I put in isn’t toasted enough.
Sometimes it’s too burnt to be eaten.
Once in a while, it’s simply perfect.
But in order for bread to be toasted at all, I’ve got to put it in the toaster.
So, as we wrap up this year and move on to the next, I’d like to offer a toast to toasting.
