spring is
a time to let go
of the doubt
you drug in
during winter
of digging through dirt
and clearing out space
for the buds
who remind you
that you are enough
spring is
a time for rain
to pour down
not to drown
but to water
the seeds
of your dreams
the drops drench
the soil
with hope
spring is
a time to trudge
through the mud
and stare into puddles
reflecting the sun
to remember
light shines
bright day or night
whether covered in clouds
or clear skies
spring is
a time when rainbows
appear
after storms
of disappointment and fear
spring’s when you realize
your dreams are still here
taking root
as they bloom
and they grow
