Autumn’s Blaze Begins
(verses in haiku)
by Abby N. Wooldridge
when autumn first sparks
flickering leaves make their mark
like flames in the dark
the greens turn to gold
oranges and reds melt and fold
then burn bright and bold
deep violets and blues
striking their brilliant way through
ignite paths anew
when embers fall down
ideas dance all around
and glow on the ground
so let their light in
dreams catch fire within when
autumn’s blaze begins
